Malawi Collective is a U.S.-based Christian 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that comes alongside Malawian-led non-governmental organizations to assist with program development, process improvements and locating strategic partnerships. Their current partner, Hope for Widows in Malawi, is a Malawian-based nonprofit organization, focused on raising awareness of their income generating sewing & tailoring program and building the program's capacity. In Malawi, when a woman’s husband dies, she is often accused of causing her husband’s death. Hope for Widows’ mission is to change this stigma by providing tools and resources that transform the widows' belief about their existence from excluded and incapable to loved and well-able to care for themselves and their families. Hope for Widows provides vocational training, such as sewing and other skills, that provide widows with the opportunity of gaining financial stability and freedom. 100% of the proceeds from the sale of the bags and jewelry goes directly to Hope 4 Widows to support their programs.
