Local Mission Partners
Main Street Ministries
Main Street Ministries walks alongside Houstonians facing systemic barriers to stability, including lack of identification, limited life skills, and financial hardship. Through Operation ID and Life Empowerment classes, MSM helps individuals remove barriers, discover their God-given purpose, and build sustainable footing.
Get Involved: Donate Bibles or reading glasses, volunteer with Operation ID, join a hospitality team, or serve as a mentor or prayer partner in an empowerment class.
Nehemiah Center
The Nehemiah Center provides academic enrichment and whole-family support for children ages 3–5 in Houston's Third Ward. Parents are active participants, completing parenting classes and volunteer hours as part of enrollment and gain access to life skills training, GED prep, ESL courses, and counseling. Over 500 children and family members are served each year.
Get Involved: Volunteer, give, or connect through the Center's family programming.
The Restoration Team
Born out of Hurricane Harvey in 2017, The Restoration Team mobilizes volunteers and skilled laborers to repair homes for vulnerable Houston families. What began as a coalition of four Methodist churches has grown into a multi-congregation effort rooted in a simple conviction: safe, functional homes are a foundation for dignity and opportunity. This home grown mission started by our very own Tommy Stone seeks to be the Light of Christ as they engage the hands and feet of Christ.
Get Involved: Volunteer for a repair project or give toward ongoing restoration work.
Jericho Road Renewal / Rise Again Bread Co.
Jericho Road Renewal offers marginalized men and women a path toward stability through communal housing, leadership development, and neighborhood partnership shaped by the Good Samaritan story. Their Rise Again Bread Co. teaches residents to bake and sell artisan bread, with all proceeds supporting housing and training.
Get Involved: Provide a meal for Tuesday night fellowship, attend monthly worship and testimony gatherings, or buy bread from Rise Again Bread Co.
Medical Bridges
Medical Bridges collects surplus medical supplies and equipment and ships them to under-resourced clinics and hospitals in over 100 countries. Since 1997, they have impacted more than 20 million lives by redirecting unused medical resources to healthcare workers who need them most. This home grown mission started by our very own Dr. Patti Brock Howard, shows the love of God through the miracle of medical technology
Get Involved: Organize a church volunteer team for the sort room, run a supply drive, or give financially to sponsor shipments.
